Jacopo
One summer evening, in my early teenage years (late 90’), my dad proposes me to see a vhs he had almost forgotten in a closet.
He mentions a band with a familiar name, but I could not associate it to any specific song.
The film begins with these dark sounds and images of old ruins, I am confused. What does this have to do with a rock band?
Then silence, a dark screen and this high pitch sound captures my attention.
The camera starts zooming on an old amphitheatre, there is a band in the middle but everyone is still, it seems like a picture. The camera keeps zooming and It becomes clear that they are actually playing the music.
The melody and chords progression are beautiful, but the magic happens when the 2 guys start singing in harmony.
From that moment Echoes was permanently impressed in my memory, it was like I was stroked by a lightening.
Few years later, in my early 20ies, I was lucky enough to meet a group of young guys sharing the same passion for Pink Floyd and we started a project called Relics that is still active today and is in my opinion one of the most genuine tributes to Pink Floyd in Europe.
When I moved to The Netherlands from Italy in 2015 I carried the dream of recreating here a tribute project to this band that I love so much, and now finally this has become real with Endless Echoes!
